About The Position

Pioneer Metal Finishing is seeking a Process Line Operator for their Precious Metals and Anodizing department on the 1st Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday–Friday), with occasional Saturdays as needed. This is a hands-on, fast-paced manufacturing role ideal for a safety-focused, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a team environment and values consistency and quality. The role involves coordinating and operating chemical process lines to produce high-quality finished products that meet customer specifications. The company is a leading surface engineering company in North America with over 75 years of experience, serving critical applications in healthcare, aerospace, automotive, and industrial markets.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong math skills
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, programs, and safety procedures
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Successful completion of a Line Operator Trainee role or equivalent manufacturing experience
  • Ability to differentiate between color variations
  • Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and teamwork mindset

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate proper process baths, programs, and materials required to produce quality product for customers.
  • Inspect loads prior to processing to ensure proper identification, tooling, security, height, and depth location.
  • Coordinate load sequencing and priorities with the Team Lead and/or Shift Supervisor to efficiently utilize available tank time.
  • Ensure a valid process program exists prior to running any load; immediately notify the Team Lead or Supervisor if missing.
  • Process special or non-standard loads according to precise customer and program specifications.
  • Operate multiple processing lines where applicable.
  • Ensure product is processed per program requirements and is acceptable based on best judgment.
  • Strive for consistency from load to load and shift to shift through clear communication and teamwork.
  • Identify and escalate issues with raw product conditions, including (but not limited to) excessive oil, deep or blind holes, air pocket risks, corrosion, galvanic concerns, or other defects.
  • Recommend process adjustments to achieve required end-product specifications.
  • Reject loads that do not meet standard processing requirements.
  • Monitor pH and solution levels in applicable tanks and make required chemical additions following daily checklists and procedures.
  • Notify the lab of any non-conforming tank conditions and change tank filters as required.
  • Participate in routine tank maintenance activities.
  • Respond to alarms and follow established protocols, including monitoring waste treatment systems when applicable.
  • Operate standard production equipment such as rectifiers, pumps, cranes, data tracks, and controllers.
  • Perform setup calibration and basic troubleshooting of assigned equipment.
  • Accurately record process data on run sheets, including temperatures, voltages, loads, and other required information.
  • Provide thorough and accurate shift-to-shift handoff communication.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Clean contact pads on work bars and tanks to ensure proper electrical contact.
  • Immediately report equipment issues following established procedures.
  • Escalate process issues or tooling improvement ideas through facility protocols.
  • Work safely at all times and comply with all safety policies while working with chemicals and hazardous materials.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and report questions or concerns to the Team Lead or Supervisor.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
