About The Position

Perform in a working leadership role in the assigned factory production area to assure production goals are achieved in a continuous improvement environment. This role involves promoting and developing an environment of continuous improvement, maintaining and driving improvements in 5S levels, participating in ITW Toolbox events, communicating and setting work priorities for the team, training and developing team members for increased workforce flexibility, assisting the supervisor in tracking Lean improvements, performing production duties such as assembly, calibration, and glass manufacturing as needed, maintaining regular attendance and the ability to work well with others, following all safety policies and procedures, performing accurate inventory transactions, communicating with other departments (Planning, Engineering & Quality) to meet company goals, driving metric improvements using the SQDIP board, and supporting company continual improvement initiatives. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • PC skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook required.
  • Must have excellent communication and organization skills.

Nice To Haves

  • technical degree preferred
  • Experience in multiple phases of assembly and calibration is preferred.
  • Experience with manufacturing a variety of products preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and develop an environment of continuous improvement within the department.
  • Maintain acceptable 5S level in the assembly and calibration cells.
  • Drive improvement in 5S if acceptable levels are not met.
  • Participate in ITW Toolbox events.
  • Communicate and set work priorities for the Team.
  • Train and develop team members for increased flexibility in the workforce.
  • Assist supervisor in tracking Lean improvements.
  • Perform production duties such as assembly, calibration, and glass manufacturing as needed.
  • Regular attendance and the ability to get along with others in a team environment.
  • Ability to follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform accurate inventory transactions.
  • Communicate with other departments in the organization (Planning, Engineering & Quality) to meet company goals.
