Process Integration Engineer

Applied Materials•Santa Clara, CA
•$108,000 - $148,500

About The Position

Applied Materials is seeking a Process Integration Engineer for its CTO group, which develops solid-state solutions for quantum technology, including superconducting qubits and optical quantum computing. The group collaborates with system companies and universities to develop quantum devices with lower error rates, drawing on advanced materials engineering, semiconductor processing, and metasurface-based optics. The role focuses on developing advanced packaging solutions for emerging markets and quantum information technologies. The engineer will create process, module, device integration, and 3D integration solutions for photonic platforms and quantum structures; work with advanced packaging, process, hardware, and metrology teams; and develop materials, processes, and structures for quantum devices. The role also includes designing experiments, analyzing process and device data, troubleshooting complex issues, preparing documentation, and collaborating with customers, startups, and universities to identify problems and develop solutions. The position is based in Albany, New York, or Santa Clara, California. It is full-time, with 10% travel, and relocation is available to eligible candidates.
