As a Process Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in designing and optimizing manufacturing processes for display and semiconductor manufacturing technologies. You will collect and analyze data, perform hardware characterization, and troubleshoot engineering issues. You'll also measure film properties, generate technical documentation, and engage with customers to resolve concerns. Process Engineers collaborate with vendors and suppliers, and become familiar with implementing new technologies and products. You will experiment, learn, and collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the semiconductor and display industries, partnering with our globally recognized R&D teams on state-of-the-art research and development projects. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Process Integration Engineer to join our Photonics Platform Business Group. As a Process Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing nanotechnology process flows on various substrates, ensuring the performance, yield, and reliability of novel photonics devices including Augmented Reality displays. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, process, and equipment engineers, to drive continuous improvement and ensure seamless integration of processes throughout the development and manufacturing lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. A Ph.D. in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Work experience of at least 5 years.
  • Proven experience (>3 years) in process integration, preferably R&D within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of nanotechnology processes, including lithography, etch, deposition, CMP and metrology.
  • Proficient in statistical data analysis and process optimization and control techniques (e.g., Design of Experiments, SPC, JMP).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read and understand layout files (industry-standard such as GDS and OASIS) and familiarity optical proximity correction (OPC) methodologies is a plus.
  • Knowledge of optics principles and photonic components and systems is desirable.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in semiconductor manufacturing, such as ISO, SEMI, and ITAR regulations, and Project management skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize process flows, ensuring the highest level of product performance, yield, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with design, process, and equipment engineers to define and implement process integration strategies and methodologies. May work with external customers/partners as well.
  • Conduct thorough characterization and studies to identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues related to process flow, yield, and quality, with limited to no supervision.
  • Analyze and interpret data from various sources to optimize and improve process performance.
  • Design and generate simple test macro layout.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process capabilities, reduce cycle time, and increase overall manufacturing efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement process integration roadmaps, ensuring seamless transfer of technology from R&D to high-volume manufacturing.
  • Develop and maintain process integration documentation, including process flows, specifications, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements and industry trends in process integration and apply knowledge to improve processes and drive innovation.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing work environment.
