About The Position

Works to identify, plan and implement key projects to improve quality, reduce costs, increase productivity and improve cycle time by reducing wasted time, rework, etc. resulting in significant business improvement and customer satisfaction. Will be responsible for leading the Process Improvement Process for both the North and South facilities as well as the Distribution Centers. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Technical or vocational degree in a related field and bakery experience are strongly preferred and/or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in the production industry is preferable.
  • Training in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma is preferable.
  • Proficient in data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Operations Team to determine metrics, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, material flow, project plans, and production capacity, and create process documentation.
  • Use data collection and analysis to determine project selection according to impact to the operations.
  • Lead and coach the operations team in the process improvement process including events and communication of opportunities and results.
  • Apply root cause analysis to identify and implement sustainable process improvements.
  • Develop and conduct compliance audits, program evaluations and reviews to drive results with the fortitude to ensure change is permanent.
  • Drive value stream mapping and the transition to future state.
  • Maintain a clean working environment while supporting 5-S initiatives.
  • Ensure all production runs meet expected quantities as per the production schedule.
  • Know emergency procedures in the event of an equipment failure or safety concern.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area at all times.
  • Communicate effectively (verbal and written) with all contacts.
  • Accept and adapt easily to change.
  • Ensure that all activities are consistent with the Company Mission Statement.
