Process Improvement Specialist - Finance

The Financial Processes Development Lead at GoCardless is seeking a candidate to optimise financial processes by identifying, mapping, re-designing, and implementing processes, controls, and financial systems. The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of financial and accounting terms, an understanding of financial control frameworks, and experience in developing and implementing controls. They will also have experience tackling big problems with a structured approach, incorporating infrastructure development, automation, designing customer-facing processes, and monitoring. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work with people from across the company from all functions and in all levels.

• Identifying financial and related activities in need of improvement.
• Mapping existing processes and re-designing those to meet current and future business needs.
• Creating and bringing for approval related policies and procedures.
• Identifying control weaknesses and design and implement controls to address.
• Improving performance by standardisation and automation of financial activities.
• Working with people from across the company from all functions and in all levels.

• Good knowledge of the inner workings of financial departments. Someone who is no stranger to financial and accounting terms.
• Understanding of financial control frameworks (e.g. SOX an advantage) with previous experience in developing and implementing controls
• Firm grasp of self-serve data tools like Looker, Tableau, QlikView or similar. We’re using Looker at GoCardless.
• Demonstrated experience tackling big problems with a structured approach, incorporating infrastructure development, automation, designing customer-facing processes, and monitoring.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to bring the cross-functional team with you as you develop and implement new processes.
• Able to travel to London on occasions for short periods of time.
