About the position
The job overview for this role is to optimize various financial processes by identifying, mapping, redesigning, and implementing processes, controls, and financial systems. The role requires collaboration with different teams across the business and focuses on improving performance through standardization and automation of financial activities. The ideal candidate should have a good knowledge of financial departments, experience in developing and implementing controls, proficiency in self-serve data tools, and the ability to tackle big problems with a structured approach. Strong communication skills and the ability to bring cross-functional teams together are also important for this role.
Responsibilities
- Identifying financial and related activities in need of improvement
- Mapping existing processes and re-designing them to meet current and future business needs
- Creating and bringing for approval related policies and procedures
- Identifying control weaknesses and designing and implementing controls to address them
- Improving performance by standardization and automation of financial activities
- Working with people from across the company from all functions and in all levels
- Having good knowledge of the inner workings of financial departments and being familiar with financial and accounting terms
- Understanding financial control frameworks and having previous experience in developing and implementing controls
- Having a firm grasp of self-serve data tools like Looker, Tableau, QlikView or similar
- Demonstrating experience in tackling big problems with a structured approach, incorporating infrastructure development, automation, designing customer-facing processes, and monitoring
- Having excellent communication skills and being able to bring the cross-functional team along in developing and implementing new processes
- Being able to travel to London on occasions for short periods of time.
Requirements
- Good knowledge of the inner workings of financial departments
- Understanding of financial control frameworks (e.g. SOX)
- Previous experience in developing and implementing controls
- Familiarity with self-serve data tools like Looker, Tableau, QlikView or similar
- Experience tackling big problems with a structured approach
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to travel to London on occasions for short periods of time
