About The Position

This is a 6-month contract role focused on improving stainless-steel carbody manufacturing processes. The engineer will drive enhancements using industrial engineering methods, update work instructions, assess and optimize tooling, manage the transition of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) into manufacturing, and provide direct technical support to production teams for smooth operations and deformation control. The role is strictly focused on manufacturing process improvement and shopfloor support, excluding design engineering or procurement.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience specifically in stainless-steel carbody shell manufacturing.
  • In-depth knowledge of welding processes (MIG/TIG) and deformation control.
  • Expertise in MTM, time studies, and line balancing.
  • Experience with PFMEA, root cause analysis, and structured problem-solving (8D/PDCA).
  • Strong capability in writing Work Instructions and maintaining digital traceability.

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Manufacturing certification.
  • Green Belt or equivalent problem-solving certification.
