About The Position

We are seeking two (2) curious and analytical Process Improvement Interns to join our Operations team for Fall-Winter 2026. Our Operations team plays a critical role in supporting core processes, such as claims handling and premium processing, where the human and technology elements of our business come together to help our customers thrive in a connected world. As a Process Improvement Intern, you will help analyze how we operate today, identify inefficiencies and develop practical recommendations to improve our processes, ultimately helping us deliver an enhanced experience for our customers. This is a paid, non-exempt, part-time internship ($20.50 per hour / 20-25 hours per week).

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Must be in your third year of study or above.
  • Available to work 20-25 hours per week (hybrid) from August 3, 2026 to December 18, 2026 during standard business hours, with the possibility of extension for an additional academic trimester or semester.
  • Process mapping and documentation skills (ability to translate complex workflows into clear visuals and narratives)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated passion for efficiency and continuous improvement
  • Curiosity, adaptability and drive to inspire new ideas and solutions
  • Strong communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must be residing in Puerto Rico for the duration of the internship, with reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.; we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this opportunity.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship, COOP or relevant work experience
  • Prior exposure to process improvement, Lean, or Six Sigma concepts
  • Familiarity with process mapping tools (Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, Miro, etc.), automation/RPA tools (e.g., Power Automate), and AI tools (Copilot, Claude, etc.)
  • Basic data analysis or visualization skills (e.g., Power BI)

Responsibilities

  • Map and document key processes and workflows
  • Identify and analyze process inefficiencies (manual tasks, bottlenecks, rework)
  • Prioritize high-impact improvement opportunities and support development of business cases
  • Develop and propose recommendations to enhance efficiency, including standardization and automation opportunities (conceptual)
  • Present insights and recommendations to stakeholders
