The Process Gas Project Manager is responsible for the onsite construction and integration of process gas infrastructure supporting an Air Liquide separation plant within a large-scale industrial and advanced manufacturing facility in New Albany, Ohio. This role coordinates the construction and delivery of process gas systems and their interfaces with broader facility infrastructure while working closely with the Director of Construction, Air Liquide, engineering, construction contractors, project controls, EHS, quality, commissioning, operations, and other project stakeholders. The position provides project and field leadership from planning through construction, testing, commissioning support, system turnover, and closeout.

Requirements

  • Strong project management and field leadership skills.
  • Strong understanding of industrial process gas and utility systems.
  • Experience managing industrial process gas, utility, mechanical, or piping construction.
  • Experience managing contractors and subcontractors on major construction projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple contractors and technical disciplines simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of industrial construction means and methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, P&IDs, and related technical documentation.
  • Experience with project scheduling, budget management, change control, and construction execution.
  • Strong understanding of project controls, contractor performance, schedule management, and field coordination.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with owners, engineering teams, contractors, vendors, project controls, commissioning teams, and operations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project scheduling and documentation tools.

  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, large-scale industrial construction environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the onsite construction execution of process gas systems and infrastructure associated with the Air Liquide separation plant.
  • Manage projects from initial planning through construction, testing, commissioning support, turnover, and closeout.
  • Develop and manage project scope, schedules, budgets, project controls, and change management.
  • Coordinate Air Liquide, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, engineering teams, and client stakeholders.
  • Review drawings, specifications, P&IDs, construction documents, schedules, and system requirements.
  • Coordinate process gas piping, mechanical equipment, utility interfaces, and associated infrastructure.
  • Support coordination of bulk gas systems and interfaces between the Air Liquide facility and customer site infrastructure.
  • Monitor contractor performance, manpower, productivity, schedule progress, materials, and upcoming work.
  • Lead and participate in daily and weekly construction planning meetings, coordination meetings, field walks, and schedule reviews.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to identify and resolve RFIs, design changes, constructability concerns, and field issues.
  • Coordinate construction activities to maintain alignment with the overall project schedule.
  • Support change management activities including scope validation, cost impacts, and commercial documentation.
  • Coordinate with project controls to track schedule progress, milestones, forecasts, and project risks.
  • Ensure process gas construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, quality requirements, applicable codes, and site standards.
  • Partner with EHS teams and contractors to maintain a strong safety culture and Culture of Caring.
  • Support quality inspections, testing, documentation, punch list activities, system turnover, and closeout.
  • Coordinate interfaces with civil, structural, architectural, electrical, instrumentation and controls, mechanical, utilities, commissioning, and operations teams.
  • Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities as systems are completed and turned over.
  • Identify potential schedule, safety, quality, and technical risks and proactively develop solutions.
  • Provide regular project status updates to the Director of Construction.
