About The Position

The Process Engineering Technician works closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Reliability teams to keep production running smoothly and correctly. This role provides hands-on technical support on the floor, helping clarify process requirements, resolve issues as they arise, and ensure products are built to specification. This position plays an active role in improving yield, efficiency, and capacity across manufacturing equipment and processes. The Process Engineering Technician documents and maintains procedures, supports tooling and process changes, and helps train operators and support staff. When problems occur, this role contributes to troubleshooting efforts and works with others to identify causes and apply practical, sustainable fixes. The work is well suited for someone who enjoys being close to the process, learning how equipment behaves, and improving how work gets done over time. The Process Engineering Technician supports continuous improvement efforts while applying SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing principles in everyday decisions. This is a Swing Shift position Monday - Friday 3:00pm-11:30pm.

Requirements

  • Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with the manufacturing equipment relevant to the role
  • Basic computer skills including familiarity with windows-based programs such as Microsoft productivity tools (e.g., Excel, Word, SQL)
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL
  • Negative drug test result(s)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience troubleshooting process and machinery problems
  • Experience writing and/or conducting Design of Experiments
  • Experience programming and maintaining automated manufacturing equipment and machinery
  • Experience preparing materials cross-sections for microscopic analysis
  • Working knowledge of basic analog and digital electronics

Responsibilities

  • Provide immediate technical support to manufacturing and clarify production process specification requirements to ensure accurate and efficient production.
  • Assist in measuring and improving yield, efficiency, and capacity of manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Document, modify, and maintain manufacturing related procedures.
  • Manage the procurement of assembly process tools.
  • Train operators and support staff as needed.
  • Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

  • Other duties as assigned.
