About The Position

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is looking for someone to join our Manufacturing team as a Process Engineering Technician I in Pullman, WA. As a Process Engineering Technician I, you’ll provide immediate technical support to manufacturing and clarify production process specification requirements to ensure accurate and efficient production.

Requirements

  • A two-year technical degree or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with the manufacturing equipment relevant to the role.
  • Basic computer skills including familiarity with windows-based programs such as Microsoft productivity tools (e.g., Excel, Word, SQL).
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience troubleshooting process and machinery problems.
  • Experience writing and/or conducting Design of Experiments.
  • Experience programming and maintaining automated manufacturing equipment and machinery.
  • Experience preparing materials cross-sections for microscopic analysis.
  • Working knowledge of basic analog and digital electronics.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in measuring and improving yield, efficiency, and capacity of manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Documenting, modifying, and maintaining manufacturing related procedures.
  • Managing the procurement of assembly process tools.
  • Training operators and support staff as needed.
  • Learning and applying SEL Values, Principles of Operation, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
