Process Engineering Manager
About The Position
We are currently seeking an experienced Process Engineering Manager to lead and support engineering projects within our Energy group. This role will provide technical leadership, project oversight, and team management across a variety of energy and industrial projects, including natural gas compressor stations, LNG facilities, gas processing facilities, power generation facilities, and other midstream and downstream infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a senior process engineering professional with strong technical expertise, project experience, and leadership capabilities who can lead process engineering teams, work directly with clients, support multidisciplinary project execution, and help grow and develop the process engineering practice.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline
- 10+ years of professional process engineering experience
- Experience leading process engineering projects, teams, or departments
- Experience supporting oil & gas, midstream, downstream, LNG, natural gas, gas processing, power generation, or other industrial energy projects
- Strong understanding of process engineering principles, process design, and engineering practices
- Experience with process simulations, hydraulic analysis, equipment sizing, process calculations, PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications
- Experience with engineering design, equipment selection, procurement, vendor coordination, and field support
- Strong ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordinate technical activities across disciplines
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and client-management skills
- Ability to travel to project and client sites as needed
Nice To Haves
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage process engineering teams across multiple projects and clients
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to process engineers and designers
- Serve as a key technical and client-facing leader throughout project execution
- Coordinate process engineering activities with mechanical, electrical, I&C, civil, structural, and other engineering disciplines
- Review and approve process engineering calculations, studies, drawings, specifications, and technical deliverables
- Develop process design approaches, engineering scopes, studies, and project estimates
- Perform and oversee process simulations, hydraulic analyses, equipment sizing, and process design calculations
- Develop and review process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), process datasheets, and equipment specifications
- Support equipment selection, procurement activities, vendor coordination, and technical bid evaluations
- Troubleshoot complex process engineering issues and provide practical, cost-effective solutions
- Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation
- Participate in client meetings, design reviews, technical discussions, and project presentations
- Conduct field walkdowns, site assessments, commissioning, start-up, and other field activities as needed
- Help establish and maintain engineering standards, processes, and quality expectations
- Identify opportunities to improve project execution, technical capabilities, and team performance
- Travel periodically to client and project sites as required
