About The Position

The Process Engineering Manager leads the site Process Engineering organization and is accountable for the performance, development and governance of process engineering activities supporting manufacturing operations. The role ensures manufacturing processes and equipment are safe, compliant, reliable and efficient while translating global engineering standards into sustainable site execution. Reporting to the Site Engineering Head, the position provides leadership for process engineers, drives continuous improvement, supports capital investments and serves as the primary site technical authority for manufacturing process technologies.

Requirements

Site-specific manufacturing process and equipment technologies.
Equipment lifecycle management, reliability, maintenance, and calibration principles.
GMP, CQV, and engineering lifecycle management.
Process and equipment troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and technical investigations.
Process optimization, OEE improvement, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Technology evaluation, deployment, and capital project support.
Process hazard assessment and risk management (PHA, HAZOP, FMEA).
Technical governance, standards deployment, and change management.
Manufacturing equipment URS, functional specifications, machinability / fit assessments and capacity modelling.
Team leadership and coaching.
Stakeholder management and influence.
Cross-functional collaboration.
Resource planning and prioritization.
Change leadership and decision making.
Strong communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical field required; Master’s degree preferred.
Typically 8-10 years of Process Engineering experience within manufacturing or operational environments, preferably across multiple product modalities and facility scales.
Strong knowledge of site manufacturing process technologies, equipment lifecycle management, GMP requirements, engineering standards, and regulatory expectations.
Proven ability to lead teams, deliver operational results, build effective cross-functional relationships, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing site.
Demonstrated experience supporting capital projects, equipment procurement, commissioning, technology transfer, and operational start-up activities.
Experience managing engineering resources and technical programs, with strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making capabilities.
Experience conducting and supporting process risk assessments.

Responsibilities

Lead, develop, and allocate Process Engineering resources to support manufacturing operations, continuous improvement, and capital projects.
Drive improvements in process capability, yield, throughput, reliability, and OEE through data analysis, optimization, and implementation of new technologies.
Implement and maintain engineering standards, procedures, and best practices aligned with Global Engineering and business requirements.
Own site Manufacturing Equipment URS, functional requirement specifications and equipment fit / machinability assessments for new and modified assets; provide site process and capacity data to support global capacity modelling and manufacturing network planning.
Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise for process and equipment issues, investigations, and root cause analysis.
Support capital projects through equipment selection, design reviews, commissioning, qualification, startup, and operational handover.
Support capacity planning and process optimization initiatives while collaborating with Maintenance & Reliability teams to maximize equipment performance, reliability, and lifecycle value.
Ensure engineering activities, manufacturing processes, and equipment comply with GMP requirements and support audit and inspection readiness.
Lead and support HAZOPs, PHAs, FMEAs, and risk assessments to identify, mitigate, and manage process risks throughout the asset lifecycle.
Build strong partnerships across Operations, Quality, MS&T, Maintenance & Reliability, Supply Chain, EHS, Global Engineering, and external partners while providing technical guidance on manufacturing processes and equipment to support operational and strategic objectives.
