Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking an Intern to provide engineering project support in areas such as computer automation and creating customized applications. The intern will support the Diffusion area to maintain excellent process monitoring and control while continuing to develop new products and support production and training needs. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a four-year or graduate program in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering or Physics.
  • Must be local to the area for the duration of the internship.
  • Good problem solving track record.
  • Ability to learn and develop expertise in new software applications specific to Microchip manufacturing, automation, and control systems.
  • Must be able to work in a clean room environment.
  • Able to lift, push, pull approx. 50 lbs; carry 50 lbs; sit 5%; stand 60%; walk 35%.

Responsibilities

  • Work with process engineers to complete projects critical to production and quality goals.
  • Assist in the generation of new process specifications.
  • Operate diverse metrology tools to measure resistivities, thicknesses, breakdown voltages, bow/warp, charge, and surface defects.
  • Utilize SPC charts to monitor processes and respond to process shifts.
  • Work with minimal oversight and obtain quick meaningful progress independently.
