About The Position

Koch Fertilizer has a summer 2027 opportunity available in Fort Dodge, Iowa: Process Engineering Intern within our Engineering team. Requirements

Enrolled in an Engineering degree
Eligible for full-time employment before or by May 2028
Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship
Willing and able to meet all physical requirements

Nice To Haves

Enrolled in a degree related to Chemical, Electrical, Biosystems, Ag Systems, or a related field

Responsibilities

Take on projects that are representative of the work our full-time engineers do, gaining hands-on experience solving real operational and process challenges.
Review and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation, including Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), piping isometrics, plot plans, and specifications.
Support process improvement, instrumentation, and operational excellence initiatives through project evaluations, data analysis, and engineering documentation development.
Assist engineers with project execution, troubleshooting efforts, and continuous improvement opportunities that create value for the business.
Participate in pressure and catalyst surveys, gaining firsthand exposure to critical process systems and plant operations.
Own individual projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop recommendations and deliver results.
