This is a technical intern position where you, the engineer, will be expected to apply fundamental but rigorous scientific methods and mechanistic understanding to improve processes and/or design capability for new and existing process and products. Requirements

Currently pursuing a BS or MS degree in a technical field
Ability to collaborate with peers and integrate solutions
Programming skills
Self-Starter and Results-oriented
Flexibility - Able to change and adjust smoothly as the situation demands
Strong communication skills
Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2027 (May-August 2027) with a graduation date of December 2027 or later
Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity
Be willing to work at the posted job location

Responsibilities

Generating hypothesis, design and execution of experiments to facilitate and promote fundamental understanding
Analysis of data and generating reports for sharing with team members and leaders
Conducting hands on work in a laboratory, pilot or manufacturing environment
Communicate project status and updates to your supervisor as well as both the project team members and leaders. Communication may include memos, technical reports and verbal/oral presentations.
