About The Position

The Process Engineer reports to the Director of Quality and is responsible for process work instructions, techniques, safety improvements, productivity enhancements, and adherence to quality requirements. The role contributes to the New Product Introduction (NPI) process and improvements in process capability. The position may back up the department supervisor as needed, and program management skills are essential to success.

Responsibilities

Use continuous improvement methodologies to identify opportunities and improve departmental safety, quality, and productivity.
Improve and maintain process control systems in collaboration with other departments.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to reduce variability with customers and suppliers.
Create, maintain, and improve standard work procedures; communicate and train employees on instructions and ensure instructions are readily available.
Partner with supervision to create, facilitate, and maintain department training.
Lead continuous improvement efforts to improve safety, labor productivity, and equipment utilization while reducing costs.
Develop and implement capital expenditure requests for equipment and facility improvements that enhance departmental performance or reduce costs.
Partner with Design Engineering and Sales on NPI efforts.
Partner with Quality and Engineering on ISO, AS, and NADCAP compliance initiatives, including internal audits and external audit preparation.
Work with purchasing and outside vendors to improve costs related to department supplies and inventory management.
Back up the department supervisor as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
