About The Position

The purpose of this position is to provide process engineering support in the manufacture of high-quality silicon wafers. This position involves two major components: sustaining of existing processes, and development and introduction of new processes. The sustaining component provides support through continuous improvement activities such as yield and capability improvements, process transfers, and root cause analysis and corrective actions for customer-related and internal quality issues. The development component provides support through implementation of the Technology Strategy, ensuring capable processes are developed in a sufficient time frame to support future customer needs. This role requires the ability to consider short and long-term consequences of project implementation, identify and contain problems found in the field, prioritize daily project lists, and identify departmental needs to report appropriate information to a supervisor. The engineer will determine the most appropriate method for implementing equipment and process operating instructions, optimal testing methodology, proper analysis of results for PTNs, and which test data is suitable for input. They will also determine if process monitoring and data indicate corrective action is required, and the individual method of material that will produce quality product and a healthy work area. Corrective action relative to process and/or equipment, and development alternatives for achieving Technology Strategy targets will be determined as needed. Equipment and process decisions will be made based on QFD & FMEA analysis. The engineer will also determine the best test method for statistical analysis, data input methodology, and disposition of discrepant material daily.
