About The Position

This role is for a Process Engineer at Plant 3. The position requires a systems thinker who can see the business and its operations holistically, understanding actions and reactions, and considering multiple pathways of potential effect before making decisions. The ideal candidate will think strategically about interventions with an eye toward scale. They will act as an optimizer, constantly challenging the organization to work smarter and supporting others to ensure they have what they need to do their work successfully. Anticipation is key, looking ahead to minimize potential issues and maximize advantages, and preparing others for what comes next. This role is an operational accelerator, driving continuous improvement, understanding the ramifications of automation and other advances, and advocating for safety, ergonomics, and scalable solutions. The engineer will work within existing structures while striving to improve and standardize them, providing accurate information and galvanizing others toward common goals. Influence will be leveraged through knowledge, relationships, data, and perspective to persuade, educate, and navigate, gaining buy-in and adoption of ideas and practices at scale, and interacting with a variety of stakeholders. The role is data-informed, focused on things that drive quantifiable business outcomes, evaluating based on quantitative feedback, and knowing and explaining the “why” behind actions. Prioritized reaction is essential, handling the unexpected without losing sight of important objectives and reacting where greatest leverage points exist. Building relationships is crucial, connecting individually and with teams across shifts and practices, building rapport and commonality, creating a “win together” ethic, serving as a liaison between the shop floor and engineering, keeping the pulse of the floor, and helping people feel heard.
