About The Position

The Process Engineer will be responsible for leading leak and scrap reduction programs, overseeing brazing processes, and leading new-product introductions from quotation through APQP implementation. This role involves developing manufacturing processes, designing jigs and equipment using CAD, managing project budgets and schedules, and evaluating emerging technologies to enhance production efficiency while upholding DENSO’s safety and quality standards. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a similar discipline, with 3-5 years of relevant experience. Strong communication, customer service, problem-solving, analytical, and negotiation skills are essential. The candidate should have an intermediate understanding of mainframe applications for data manipulation and analysis, and the ability to apply the PDCA process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related engineering discipline.
  • 2+ years of production or process engineering experience in automotive or HVAC manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience with brazing operations, equipment, and process qualification.
  • Proven track record of leading leak- and scrap-reduction projects.
  • Experience managing new-product launches, APQP, and project budgets/schedules.
  • Proficiency with CAD software for jig and equipment design.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt preferred) and statistical analysis tools (Minitab, JMP).
  • Strong problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities across cross-functional groups.
  • Commitment to safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead leak-reduction projects and implement scrap-reduction strategies across condenser lines.
  • Develop, qualify, and maintain brazing procedures, parameters, and equipment.
  • Act as project lead for new-product launches, managing the APQP process from quotation to production rollout.
  • Create and validate jigs, fixtures, and machinery using CAD or external resources to meet customer schedules.
  • Develop and control project budgets and schedules for new-product implementation.
  • Investigate and integrate new manufacturing technologies to improve productivity and quality.
  • Generate and analyze key process metrics; produce performance and cost-impact reports.
  • Provide technical support for root-cause analysis, troubleshooting, and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with design, quality, and manufacturing teams to drive Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare and maintain work instructions, SOPs, and training materials for operators.
