About The Position

MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions, a business segment of Element Solutions Inc (NYSE: ESI), is seeking an experienced Process Engineer with deep expertise in chemical process design, reaction chemistry, and scale-up from lab to commercial production. The ideal candidate is a strong technical leader who excels in developing P&IDs, executing complex projects, and driving cross-functional collaboration across global teams. This individual is a proactive problem solver who can translate technical requirements into efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality manufacturing processes while supporting continuous improvement and innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in chemical process development, scale-up, or manufacturing (3 years experience with a Masters).
  • Strong experience with P&ID development and interpretation is required.
  • Strong expertise in chemical engineering fundamentals, especially reaction chemistry and process scale-up
  • Proficiency in P&ID development, process design, and process control principles
  • Advanced problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical projects and drive results
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
  • Knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements in manufacturing
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on efficiency, quality, and cost optimization
  • Ability to mentor and develop junior team members
  • Strong documentation, organization, and technical writing skills

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience with process modeling, simulation, and data analysis tools

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and scale-up of chemical processes across lab, pilot, and manufacturing
  • Develop P&IDs and support pilot studies, process validation, and troubleshooting
  • Optimize processes to improve yield, quality, efficiency, and cost
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to enable successful technology transfer and commercialization
  • Use modeling and data analysis tools to evaluate and enhance process performance
  • Support capital projects, ensure safety and compliance, and maintain technical documentation
  • Provide mentorship and contribute to global engineering initiatives
