About The Position

Brewer Science is seeking a purpose-driven Process Engineer with an ownership mentality for a position in Rolla, Missouri. Process Engineers evaluate, select, develop, and implement programs for product and process characterization, continuous product and process improvements, equipment design, and installation and implementation. The posting describes responsibilities at Process Engineer I, II, and III levels; the role offered will be at level II or III. Across the levels, the position involves product and process characterization; testing materials; preparing workbooks and process specifications; conducting process studies and research; preparing reports; maintaining accurate records of data, procedures, experiments, tests, and findings; and using data to support continuous improvement. The engineer participates in troubleshooting, proposes solutions to operational challenges, supports manufacturing safety procedures, collaborates across functions to improve process efficiency and product quality, and adheres to industry regulations and standards for chemical manufacturing. At level II, additional work includes preventing non-conformities, analyzing and optimizing manufacturing processes, designing and conducting experiments, implementing process changes and monitoring results, providing production support and troubleshooting, and developing process documentation such as P&IDs, standard operating procedures, and safety protocols. The role may assist with training, contribute engineering ideas, complete moderately complex assignments, present findings, and provide technical guidance. At level III, the engineer performs the level II duties and may coordinate or supervise technicians. Additional responsibilities include designing and justifying facilities; leading process-improvement projects; scaling processes from laboratory through pilot plant to full-scale production; analyzing experimental and production data and implementing corrective actions for moderately complex issues; developing process simulation models; providing technical support for process-change integration; mentoring lower-level engineers; and assisting with project and product development planning.
