About The Position
Formosa Plastics Corporation, Texas, located in Point Comfort, Texas (jobsite), is looking for a full-time Process Engineer. This role involves a variety of engineering tasks related to process simulation, design, and optimization within the chemical manufacturing environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemical and Materials Engineering.
- 1 year related work experience.
Responsibilities
- Simulating the temperature profile of the hydrocarbon distillation system.
- Simulating the static state of mass and energy balance for the distillation towers.
- Calculating the required flow capacity and determining suitable pump type for the hydraulic transportation system based on required flow, pump head and fluid properties.
- Performing hydraulic check for pump and control valve.
- Determining the heat duty of the heat exchanger.
- Developing processes to improve the heat transfer efficiency.
- Designing and implementing waste gas treatment for the hexene boiler to reduce pollution.
- Designing and implementing steam and condensate system.
- Designing, testing, installing, starting-up, and commissioning the distributed control system.
- Reviewing and modifying the process parameters of the distributed control system.
- Reviewing process flow diagrams and process and instrument diagram.
