About The Position

Mackin Talent is seeking a Process Engineer to support the development and execution of microfabrication processes for building and characterizing advanced optoelectronic devices. This role works closely with client, research and lab teams to run experiments, operate fabrication and metrology tools, and document results to inform process improvements. The ideal candidate brings hands-on lab experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement in a fast-paced R&D environment.

Requirements

Hands-on semiconductor or microfabrication experience (academic lab, internship, or industry)
Familiarity with metrology and characterization tools
Working knowledge of experimental design and process development
Strong lab discipline and safety mindset
Detail-oriented documentation and communication skills
Experience with lasers and laser alignment

Nice To Haves

IJP experience preferred

Responsibilities

Conduct fabrication and testing
Work closely with the research staff, and other lab staff to execute the design of experiments
Operate Lithography, Etch, Deposition, Metrology, and Plasma tooling to build novel optoelectronic structures
Utilize profilometry, ellipsometer, spectrometers or other metrology tools
Perform substrate preparation, coating, patterning, metrology and analysis repetitively
Work with laser and laser alignment
Follow all safety protocols.
Identify gaps in protocol and make recommendations for improvement proactively
Document the results of all process work
Support staff for tool modifications and maintenance
