About The Position

Sika is looking for an experienced Process Engineer to join its growing team in Brighton, CO. The Process Engineer will be responsible for the development, implementation, and improvement of manufacturing processes for all new and existing products in the Brighton Operations. The goal is to achieve continuous improvement of quality and productivity to fulfill customer and market requirements, while maintaining high quality standards at the lowest cost, utilizing available resources (raw materials, equipment, and personnel). These improvements will be achieved through leadership, innovation, cross-functional work, and cooperation with all levels of the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering with a minimum of three years’ experience in manufacturing, quality, and process optimization.
  • Strong understanding of statistical process control, statistics, and customer integration.
  • Leadership skills to drive projects and process teams to successful fruition.
  • Strong customer base and quality focus.
  • Data driven.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Capable of interfacing with cross-functional departments toward a common goal.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong hands-on commitment.
  • Passionate attitude with an innovative mind frame.
  • Practical knowledge and experience with creating SOPs, PFMEAs, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams.
  • Strong understanding of automated control systems and P&IDs.
  • Strong computer skills are a must.
  • Highly proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio, and MS Project.

Responsibilities

  • Introduce new raw materials, products, and processes.
  • Improve production, quality, and packaging efficiency through the design of process changes.
  • Implement strategy, processes and activities related to capital budgeting and plan implementation.
  • Recommend equipment improvements by providing specifications and/or requirements and controlling these recommendations through to completion.
  • Reduce production complexity.
  • Determine and improve process capabilities by using statistical techniques to meet or exceed customer needs.
  • Improve production efficiency.
  • Create, update, and implement plant procedures, electronic recipes, work instructions and train employees, as necessary.
  • Develop in-process tests and requirements.
  • Troubleshoot problems and establish root cause analysis to develop the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Leader or key member of project and process teams.
  • May perform other projects or assignments as required.
