The Process Engineer designs chemical processes and systems for manufacturing or production facilities in the process industries. With 2–5 years of experience, the role focuses on creating and refining process designs—including simulations, equipment specifications, and flow diagrams—to support new projects and improve existing systems. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, the Process Engineer performs technical analysis and process modeling and collaborates with project teams to deliver efficient, safe, and scalable designs. The role also performs hydraulic calculations, including pump, control valve, and restriction orifice calculations, and applies standards such as API 520, API 521, API 2000, ASME Section VIII, and ASME Section I. The position supports basic and detailed design engineering for projects in petrochemical, refinery, and midstream facilities, in accordance with client requirements and specifications. It includes process simulations, design calculations, equipment sizing and selection, review of client documents and FEED designs, preparation of process engineering deliverables, pressure relief system calculations and design, and coordination with other disciplines, vendors, and clients. The Process Engineer may also assist with operating and start-up manuals, participate in Process Hazard Analysis meetings, and attend plant start-ups when requested.
