About The Position

The Process Engineer drives continuous improvement of manufacturing and operational processes to increase safety, quality, throughput, and cost efficiency. The role partners with production, quality, maintenance, and EHS to analyze workflows, identify bottlenecks, and implement process solutions using Lean, Six Sigma, and statistical methods. It develops and optimizes standard operating procedures, process control plans, and KPIs, and leads trials, validations, and root-cause investigations to sustain performance. The Process Engineer also directs process technicians’ efforts, establishes goals, and works to produce positive results. The role manages process reliability by working with customers to define product requirements and translate them into controllable process parameters; assessing the company’s ability to consistently meet targets and product requirements; and identifying opportunities to improve reliability. In collaboration with the Process Engineering Manager, Operations Manager, Maintenance Manager, and manufacturing teams, the Process Engineer recommends and justifies equipment upgrades or modifications. The position leads improvement projects, meetings, and Kaizen events; reviews, contributes to, and/or approves process procedures; coordinates production-order instructions with the Production Scheduler when specifications are new or changed; and monitors schedule reliability. The Process Engineer works with the Operations Manager to train production team members in downtime Pareto analysis, process capability studies by product and line, and control-chart maintenance and analysis to reduce key-property variation through identification of assignable causes and corrective action. The position is located in Mooresville, North Carolina.
