About The Position

The Process Engineer is responsible for process optimization, methods improvements, and applying the Corporate Quality program to the operations of Mativ’s coating plant in New Berlin, Wisconsin. The role evaluates and improves manufacturing processes and systems, supports safe and reliable production, and works with customers, sales, and operations to improve existing products and commercialize new products and processes.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably chemical, polymer/plastic, or mechanical engineering.
Entry-level to five years of experience.
Hands-on manufacturing experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interaction, collaboration, and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Strong project management skills to deliver results on time and on budget.
Knowledge of ISO.
Ability to apply statistical process and quality control.
Willingness to work around hazardous chemicals and ability to wear a respirator when required.

Nice To Haves

Data analysis experience such as Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing.
AutoCAD drafting.
Mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

Evaluate manufacturing-system processes, make recommendations, and implement improvements.
Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs, and changeovers.
Recommend and develop solutions involving equipment upgrades and product changes, including customer product issues, quality issues, alternative product options, and cost reductions.
Partner with customers, sales, and operations to improve existing products and commercialize new products and processes through manufacturing.
Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards.
