About The Position

Jefferson Southern Corporation (JSC) is a Tier One automotive supplier that produces stamped and welded steel parts for the interior shell of automobiles. These parts are vital to the strength, safety, and performance of the vehicle. The Process Engineer will be responsible for developing, configuring, and optimizing industrial processes within the weld department, from inception through to start-up and certification. This role involves assessing processes, interpreting data, designing and testing systems, and implementing lean manufacturing principles to improve production efficiency and quality.

Requirements

BS degree in Engineering
Proven work experience in process engineering
Knowledge of process related standards
Experience in process simulations
Working knowledge of process engineering software packages
CAD or AutoCad skills
Familiarity with health and safety regulations
Analytical thinker with interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

Develop, configure and optimize industrial processes from inception through to start up and certification
Assess processes, take measurements and interpret data
Design, run, test and upgrade systems and processes
Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output
Perform process simulations
Production efficiency tracking and improvement (OEE, Cycle/Time, SPM)
Perform risk assessments
Provide process documentation and operating instructions
Develop, configure and optimize line layout and material flow process in the weld department
Establish lean manufacturing process and implement effective line-side presentation
Support identifying MHE (Material Handling Equipment) types and routes, leading to safe work environment
