About The Position

The Process Engineer - Manufacturing role is responsible for developing Control Plans and Standard Operating Conditions (SOC’s) to ensure consistent product quality for customers. This position will promote and lead standardization and continuous process improvement by fostering best practices through Continuous Improvement activities. Performance will be measured by reduced internal rejects and customer complaints, increased Rate, reduced Yield Loss, and increases in Cpk for key process and product parameters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in technical field is required.
  • Working primarily on manufacturing shop floor and not behind desk.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, people management and problem solving skills.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication capabilities.
  • Detail oriented, system thinker, disciplined, ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, ERP’s)

Responsibilities

  • Help transfer best process and equipment practices across production lines.
  • Work with S & E Coordinator, where necessary, to update PPE requirements.
  • Implement necessary environmental controls to avoid pollution and contamination.
  • Supervise customers receive same formulations and finished product every time, following Product & Process Control Plans.
  • Coordinate with Commercial Teams to ensure all customer requirements are being consistently met.
  • Use data and the Voice of Customer (internal and external) to determine where improvements are necessary, initiate corrective action and measure success.
  • Support equipment & process design during project phase.
  • Support project activities like budget, scope & schedule.
  • Supervise process operational conditions for production lines.
  • Ensure plant is “starting where they stopped” on all production runs and that SOC’s are updated in timely manner to reflect actual, optimal and sustainable run conditions.
  • Support Plant Manager on KPI goals as related to process improvements through CIT team leadership and involvement. Focus on Job Rate, Yield Loss, Safety and Quality.
  • Supports utilization of Company ERP’s systems, and ensures correct and consistent use on shop floor.
  • Drive improvements via Management by Walking Around (MBWA).
  • Uphold the Blue Polymers Code of Conduct standards.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
