About The Position

TEL is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the New Product Process Technology Group located in Chaska, Minnesota. This role involves managing a team of process engineers, implementing engineering standards, defining technical and resource strategies, and managing department budgets and schedules. The manager will collaborate with customer engineers, TMEA factory and product teams, sales, marketing, and product design to ensure process and design compatibility, facilitate intellectual property creation, and travel as required. Employee management responsibilities include hiring, developing, evaluating personnel, setting goals, creating development plans, and managing resources in alignment with the RBA Code of Conduct.

Requirements

  • Minimum four-year degree in science/technology discipline is required
  • Minimum eight years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing and/or semiconductor equipment is preferred
  • Prior process engineering and/or process engineering management exp.is preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of equipment technology and semiconductor device structures is preferred
  • Knowledge and experience of vacuum-based equipment is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience of plasma etch equipment is preferred.
  • Strong problem finding/solving skills are required
  • Strong oral communication and technical presentation skills are required
  • Ability to travel 0-10%

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of process engineers to support process development, process optimization and continuous improvement for existing product fleet and new platforms
  • Implement engineering working standards to drive increased work efficiency and quality improvement.
  • Define department technical and resources strategies to support company goals
  • Establish equipment operation and process specifications
  • Manage department budget, engineer & equipment schedules, and project priorities
  • Work closely with customer engineers and managers to coordinate efforts with own department to develop and demonstrate new processes
  • Prepare and present material for internal and customer meetings
  • Work closely with TMEA factory and product team, sales and marketing groups, and other functional areas, to prepare changes, additions, and modifications which will facilitate customer adoption and improve quality of process equipment
  • Acts as a liaison with product design and development to ensure processes and designs are compatible.
  • Facilitate the creation and capture of IP for TEL associated with semiconductor equipment, process and manufacturing.
  • Hire, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of process engineering internal and external support.
  • Set goals for the group as well as individuals and drive accountability to those goals.
  • Create individual development plans with direct reports and help team members meet their goals.
  • Manage department resources aligned with the RBA Code of Conduct.
