About The Position
First Quality is seeking a Process Engineer Intern for Nutek Disposable in McElhattan. The intern supports production teams with day-to-day operations, process troubleshooting, and efficient changeovers. The role also assists process engineers with material variances, waste reduction, safe production speeds, and product specification and bill of materials issues. The intern is expected to follow safety guidelines, identify opportunities for improvement, and perform other responsibilities as requested by the Process Engineering Manager.
Requirements
- Be self-motivated and able to complete multiple assigned tasks within short time frames.
- Work well with others under time pressure.
Responsibilities
- Support production teams in day-to-day operations, including machine cleanup and housekeeping, material preparation, and loading.
- Provide day-to-day process troubleshooting support to operations.
- Attend the morning shift exchange meeting.
- Collaborate with platform leadership on changeover resource allocation and scheduling.
- Support changeovers to ensure they are efficient.
- Maintain changeover documentation to support the process.
- Assist process engineers in identifying causes and solutions for material variances.
- Assist process engineers in minimizing waste streams.
- Assist process engineers in establishing and maintaining maximum safe production speeds.
- Assist process engineers in resolving product specification and BOM issues.
- Follow safety guidelines and identify areas for improvement.
- Perform other responsibilities as requested by the Process Engineering Manager.
