About The Position

We are seeking a Process Engineer Intern to join Zions Bancorporation. The Process Engineer Intern plays a key role in driving process transformation initiatives, leveraging process mining, task mining, and intelligent process optimization to deliver operational efficiencies across deposits, lending, finance, affluent, and other business units. This Process Engineer Intern challenges the status quo, provides thought leadership, and collaborates with stakeholders to optimize processes, mitigate risk, and improve the customer experience. The successful candidate will partner with business owners, automation, technology, data, and risk groups to prioritize and execute projects, develop business cases, and implement process improvements. Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, operations management, information systems, or a related field required.
  • Some experience in business process improvement analysis, gathering and documenting business requirements, or other directly related experience.
  • Experience in analysis of business processes and workflow, and/or process improvement recommendations.
  • Basic knowledge of business process analysis, workflow, and process improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with project management techniques and practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and resolve conflicting or inaccurate data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with both management and staff.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under normal supervision, following outlined and detailed procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate process transformation efforts, including process mining, task mining, and intelligent process optimization.
  • Challenge existing processes and provide thought leadership to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with business owners, automation, technology, data, and risk teams to identify, prioritize, and execute process improvement projects.
  • Develop business cases for process transformation using data analysis and process improvement methodologies.
  • Create process visualizations to identify inefficiencies, duplicate data entry, and pain points in end-to-end business processes.
  • Optimize processes by determining appropriate levers such as automation, lean methodologies, and data-driven solutions.
  • Analyze and identify key risk indicators (KRIs) in partnership with business units.
  • Support the development and continual improvement of process frameworks, methods, and tools, including training and documentation.
  • Provide project management support across the end-to-end lifecycle of process improvement engagements.
  • Facilitate long-term improvement roadmap for system rationalization, elimination, or integration in close collaboration with process stakeholders
  • Other duties as assigned.
