Process Engineer in Joining Technologies

Bosch Group•Charleston, SC

About The Position

Bosch is seeking a process engineer and technical expert in joining technologies, particularly automated screw driving and press fitting. The role owns and optimizes existing plant joining processes and contributes to the Bosch Center of Competency and International Production Network. It focuses on producing high-precision, reliable mechanical connections while reducing cycle times and defect rates. The engineer specifies, debugs, and improves press machines, automated screwdrivers, and torque-controlled systems. The role uses data-driven methods to resolve complex production issues, including torque deviations, improper seating, and material misalignment, and supports maintenance, trials, capacity planning, and process capability activities. It also leads new process and technology development, equipment upgrades, and projects aimed at cycle-time reduction and improved overall equipment effectiveness. The position defines and manages critical parameters such as press force, distance, press depth, screw speed, and torque curves. It works with internal and external partners on process and equipment optimization, communicates with lead plants and expert teams about technologies and improvements, leads projects and teams, and mentors and trains associates in screw driving and pressing processes.
