About The Position

Quanta Power Solutions is seeking a Process Engineer II professional to support the design and development of process systems for power generation projects, including simple cycle gas turbine installations, combined cycle power plants, and reciprocating engine facilities. This role works under the guidance of senior engineers and project leads to deliver high-quality engineering solutions across all phases of project execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Petroleum Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 2–4 years of relevant industrial experience in process engineering, preferably within power generation, chemical, or EPC environments.
  • Basic understanding of power generation systems, including gas turbines (combined cycle experience is a plus).
  • Familiarity with process simulation and hydraulic modeling tools (e.g., GT Pro, PIPE-FLO).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and engineering best practices.
  • Strong communication and technical documentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical expertise under senior guidance.
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
  • Willingness to travel as required for project support.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Plant3D / P&ID is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support process engineering activities through all project phases, including conceptual studies, detailed design, procurement support, and commissioning.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining process design basis documents, equipment lists, line lists, and tie-in schedules.
  • Prepare and review equipment datasheets and specifications for procurement packages under supervision.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines (mechanical, piping, electrical, structural) and vendors to support project deliverables.
  • Track assigned deliverables and assist with scope management within the process discipline.
  • Support the design of balance of plant systems including: Demineralized water treatment systems (RO, CEDI, mixed bed), Closed cooling water and service water systems, Instrument and plant air systems, Chemical dosing and wastewater handling systems.
  • Assist with tank and vessel sizing calculations in accordance with applicable codes (API 650, ASME Section VIII).
  • Support equipment selection such as pumps, compressors, and packaged systems.
  • Assist in evaluating material compatibility for various plant chemicals.
  • Provide support for environmental and permitting efforts, including emissions estimates and coordination with environmental consultants.
  • Contribute process data for studies such as noise analysis, wastewater discharge, and containment design.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs).
  • Support the creation and revision of Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), including tagging, control schemes, and system layout.
  • Participate in P&ID reviews, including HAZOPs and design reviews, and help incorporate comments and revisions.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistency across engineering deliverables.
