About The Position

The Process Engineer II independently leads process improvement, operational excellence, and automation initiatives across the IDT Boulder site. This role applies engineering and analytical methodologies to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, capacity, and operational performance across value streams and supporting functions. The Process Engineer II partners with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Logistics, Maintenance, and other cross-functional teams to implement sustainable process improvements, solve operational challenges, and develop expertise in process engineering and Danaher Business System (DBS) tools. This position reports to the Manager of Process Engineering, Facilities, and Lab Management, is part of the Process Engineering team located in Boulder, CO, and is an on-site role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing, laboratory, operational, or technical environment.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting or leading process improvement, engineering, automation, or operational excellence initiatives.
  • Experience utilizing statistical analysis, engineering principles, Lean, DBS, Six Sigma, or other structured problem-solving methodologies to improve process performance.
  • Experience leading projects, investigations, process changes, or continuous improvement initiatives involving cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience analyzing operational or process performance data and implementing improvements based on findings.

Nice To Haves

  • Biotechnology, life sciences, pharmaceutical, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Automation, workflow optimization, process validation, equipment qualification, new product introduction (NPI), or implementation of operational technologies.
  • Lean, DBS, Six Sigma certification, Kaizen facilitation, or other continuous improvement leadership experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead process improvement initiatives that improve operational performance, quality, capacity, and efficiency across value streams and supporting functions.
  • Independently manage investigations, problem-solving activities, and process changes that address operational challenges.
  • Analyze operational and process performance data to identify improvement opportunities and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Lead automation, technology implementation, process validation, and new product introduction activities.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain engineering documentation, standard work, and process specifications.
