Howmet Engine Systems is currently seeking an experienced Engineering professional to join our team in Hampton, Virginia. As a Process Engineer you will be responsible all the metallurgical/materials characteristics pertaining to the investment casting process and our products. This may involve both new development and production castings. In this role you will be teamed up with a Product Engineer who will be responsible for the dimensional aspects of the process/product. The prime responsibility for this position is to engineer the highest yield and lowest overall cost product while meeting or exceeding all customer defined quality requirements. In this position you will work in a team environment with other engineers as well as hands on with the manufacturing team so strong communication skills are required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Engineering.
  • Must be able to provide documentation in the original form establishing both your identity and your employment eligibility in the U.S.
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items you must be able to lawfully obtain access to such items.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgical, Materials, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Investment casting experience
  • Coursework or equivalent experience in basic statistical and analytical tools
  • 3 years in a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

  • Follows Howmet’s Safety Regulations and work Rules Handbook along with all department specific safety requirements.
  • Develops and debugs processes for production and developmental castings.
  • Actively pursues the continuous improvement of existing processes.
  • Supplies technical support to customers. Interacts with them regarding technical concerns
  • Complies with all company attendance policies and guidelines; this includes, but is not limited to, regular attendance and some overtime.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
