Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of manufacturing or process engineering experience, preferably in plastics manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated experience leading process improvement and cost reduction projects.
  • Ability to draw in Solid Works to assist with process improvement projects.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to design and execute process trials and experiments with supporting business justifications.
  • Knowledge of plastics materials and processes, including APET, CPET, and PP preferred.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and manufacturing best practices.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and training skills.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, monitor, and optimize standard operating conditions to ensure product quality and maximize production rates.
  • Lead process improvement projects focused on reducing downtime, improving efficiency, increasing capacity, reducing scrap, and lowering operating costs.
  • Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for quality, production, and equipment-related issues.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to manufacturing operations.
  • Evaluate production equipment capabilities and recommend equipment, tooling, and process improvements.
  • Train and support operating personnel on process standards, operating procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Audit manufacturing operations and provide recommendations to leadership regarding process performance, operating effectiveness, and safety practices.
  • Support and lead efforts related to customer certifications, quality standards, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Work in accordance with all company policies and procedures regarding employment, safety, quality, product safety and legality, security, and regulatory compliance as applicable.
