About The Position

Doncasters is seeking a Process Engineer I to join their team in Groton, Connecticut. This entry-level role supports aerospace investment casting processes, focusing on building foundational engineering skills and process knowledge. The position involves process ownership, monitoring, control, production maintenance, and yield improvement. While offering exposure to all aspects of aerospace cast product manufacturing, the role concentrates on a specific subset of the manufacturing process and its upstream and downstream impacts. The Process Engineer I will initially work with a mentor until autonomous performance is achieved.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or Equivalent Professional Experience
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and analytical skills

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of casting processes, GD&T (certain process roles), or engineering documentation is preferred, but not required.
  • Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems is preferred but not required.
  • Proven track record in Industrial Gas Turbine (IGT) castings experience in a Turbine Aerofoils industry.
  • Working knowledge of materials science, mechanical, or industrial engineering.
  • Specific investment casting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in Demonstration and Maintenance of Production as it Relates to Process Responsibility
  • Assist Evaluation and Execution of Process-Specific Continuous Improvement & Defect Reduction
  • Integrate New Equipment and Methodology to Improve Process Control, Capability and/or Capacity
  • Develop Engineering Skills & Toolbox
