About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer I for our modern manufacturing facility. This role involves monitoring process performance to identify areas for improvement, defining problems related to product/process systems, and implementing improvement programs. The Process Engineer I will lead team projects and provide technical and problem-solving support. Our facility specializes in encapsulating glass with an injection molding process and assembling windows for the automotive original equipment manufacturer customer. Requirements

Associates degree in a related field or a combination of education and experience or equivalent experience.
Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience.
Two (2) years of technical support experience in injection molding processes (e.g., Mold Tech; Process Tech; Senior Process Tech).
Two (2) years of automotive manufacturing experience.
Demonstrated ability to coach and instruct operators and process technicians.
Knowledge of and ability to use customer and supplier prints, SPC, pressure gauges, and monitoring devices.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership ability and the ability to work within a team.
Proficiency in business software such as Excel, Word, and MS-Outlook.
Demonstrated ability to apply inferential and deductive reasoning.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and acceptable DMV record for use of company vehicles.
Regular and predictable attendance at the manufacturing plant is required.

Nice To Haves

Automation Training/Experience (ABB, Fanuc Robotics)
Injection Molding Certification (Routsis or similar)
Six-Sigma Certification (Greenbelt or Black Belt)
Training and experience in disciplined problem-solving techniques (e.g., 5-Why; 8-D; DMEAC)

Responsibilities

Instigate studies and actions to overcome quality, processing, and safety problems to reduce waste and improve team performance.
Develop and maintain process documentation, including Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan, and related Work Instructions or SOPs, and audit regularly for accuracy and effectiveness.
Guarantee that process standards correspond to the company’s objectives, costs, and supplies to meet customer needs.
Set up systems and train team members in Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), problem-solving, and CI techniques (e.g., 5S, TPM, SMED, process capability measurement, and statistical process control (SPC)).
Fully participate in the New Model Introduction process through the development of new products, processes, and systems.
Contribute to research and development projects.
Assist in the commissioning of equipment and other systems to ensure efficient introduction into the production facility with minimal disruption.
Coordinate testing of new materials, processes, and equipment before introduction into the production phase.
Own the containment and corrective action for all product CARs and serve as a primary contact for customer-site ambassadors, which may require travel to customer locations.
Work in compliance with all safety rules and regulations.
Provide actions to support safety and environmental compliance and improvement.
Evaluate workcell setup, equipment, and operating procedures for ergonomic impacts and provide actions for ergonomic improvements.
Participate in various training and workshops to expand the engineering skill set.
Adhere to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and Principles.
Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
Actively participate in problem-solving teams and other groups as necessary to achieve KPI goals.
Adjust demands and priorities regularly to provide a high level of service under tight timelines to several internal or external customers.
