About The Position

The Process Engineer I/II will support the design, optimization, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes across Chobani’s operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer who wants hands-on exposure inside a fast-paced food and beverage manufacturing environment. This role will partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Automation, and Engineering teams to support process improvements, equipment optimization, troubleshooting, and startup activities. The ideal candidate is technically curious, eager to learn, comfortable working on the plant floor, and excited to grow. This is an onsite role at our Twin Falls, Idaho plant, this role is not available for remote/hybrid options- relocation support is provided. Candidates with dairy processing experience are highly preferred; however, candidates from other food & beverage, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or fluid-processing manufacturing environments will also be considered.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering preferred; Mechanical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or other related engineering disciplines will also be considered
  • Minimum 1+ years of paid engineering experience in manufacturing, internships/co-ops considered for Process Engineer I level
  • Dairy processing experience strongly preferred
  • Will also consider candidates from food & beverage, CPG, beverage, or other fluid-processing manufacturing environments
  • Basic understanding of fluid systems, pumps, piping, heat transfer, and processing equipment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Comfortable working in a plant-floor environment and collaborating cross-functionally
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required; exposure to AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, SEEQ, PI, or related systems is a plus
  • Ability to work in manufacturing environments that may include heavy equipment, noise, dust, and varying temperatures

Responsibilities

  • Support process engineering activities related to dairy and beverage manufacturing systems
  • Assist with troubleshooting, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives across processing operations
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Automation teams to improve process reliability, efficiency, and product quality
  • Support equipment startups, commissioning activities, and plant trials as needed
  • Help develop and maintain process documentation, specifications, SOPs, and engineering standards
  • Participate in engineering projects from concept through execution and startup
  • Assist with process calculations including pumps, piping, flow rates, heat transfer, and general fluid systems
  • Work with equipment vendors and cross-functional teams to support manufacturing improvements
  • Analyze operational data and identify opportunities for process optimization and performance improvement
  • Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor and build collaborative relationships with operations teams
