About The Position

Our Cleveland, OH, office is seeking a Process Mechanical Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our multi-disciplinary team of water professionals. As a Process Mechanical EIT, you will work in a supportive team environment and have exposure to water infrastructure design projects that include water and wastewater treatment plants and conveyance systems. You may also be involved in planning, design, and construction of critical infrastructure projects, including new pump stations and rehabilitation and upgrades of existing water and wastewater treatment facilities.

Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of the fundamental concepts of process/mechanical engineering or civil/environmental engineering.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple project assignments, prioritize, and take direction.
  • Ability to prepare complete, concise, and organized engineering studies, designs, and specifications.
  • Willingness and ability to perform field work, as needed, within the Boise area and Pacific Northwest.
  • BS degree in civil, environmental, or mechanical engineering, or related field, required.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification required, or ability to achieve within 1 year.
  • 0-5 years of experience in the planning or design of water, wastewater, or related infrastructure.

Nice To Haves

  • MS degree in civil or environmental engineering or related field, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with local and multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions for municipal water and wastewater clients.
  • Perform engineering analyses and calculations, prepare design drawings and technical specifications, develop planning and engineering reports, and support the design of pipelines, pump stations, and water/wastewater treatment systems.
  • Perform site visits, condition assessments, and observe startup operations, as necessary.
  • Continually acquire new knowledge of and experience with a variety of innovative technologies, treatment approaches, and design tools.
  • Develop ability to identify resources required to complete projects or assignments.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and adapt to project changes.
  • Develop professional network within the water industry through interactions with clients, regulatory agencies, other consulting firms, and industry organizations.
  • Take on increasingly complex projects and responsibilities, with opportunities to mentor junior team members and support the development of interns and early-career professionals.
