We form value through combined effort with our customers and stakeholders. We are looking for an experienced Process Engineer/Tooling Manager to join McCLARIN Composites. The Process Engineer/Tooling Manager is responsible for production process integrity and leading Continuous Improvement efforts through a combined focus on Manufacturing, Quality & Engineering concerns. This position will be on-site in Wapato, WA. A typical day involves creating work instructions for specific processes and products, auditing processes to work instructions and ensuring consistency through process audits, assisting NPD process with FMEA activities in support of manufacturing, assisting work cell designs, equipment needs, and process layout in support of successful launch to production, driving Continuous Improvement through participation in SQDC huddles in support of employee ideas, developing better handling methods to reduce part damage and rework, strategic planning for quality, goal setting and improving effectiveness of quality, reviewing and modifying current production methods to reduce rework and increase production efficiency, verifying the correct production processes and procedures are being performed, developing written work instructions and standard operating procedures, generating monthly reports related to the cost of poor quality, defect issues – PPM, open complaints and part return, assisting with root cause failure analysis (RCFA), and occasionally inspecting products to ensure conformance to requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Process, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 3-5 years direct manufacturing experience
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen or other Continuous Improvement tools.
  • Proficient in CAD (SolidWorks) software as well as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to use various inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers and height gauge.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret shop prints and drawings, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
