MilliporeSigma is seeking a Process Development Scientist to join the technical branch of its commercial organization in the Midwest. This role will support process development and manufacturing sciences activities, working remotely from locations such as Indianapolis, Chicago, St. Louis, or Minneapolis. The Process Development Scientist will be part of a global team of engineers and scientists, reporting to the technical support group for MilliporeSigma’s Process Solutions business. The position involves leading development studies for the purification of therapeutic proteins using MilliporeSigma technologies, including sterile filtration, depth filtration, tangential flow filtration, viral reduction filtration, and chromatography. Responsibilities include selection and sizing of equipment, process optimization, and tech transfer for new pharmaceuticals, with a focus on Phase I-III development. The role requires providing customer consultations via various communication channels, collaborating with customer process development groups in the Central United States, and partnering with local MilliporeSigma account managers to deliver technical expertise. Additionally, the scientist will support clinical and commercial scale implementations using sound engineering principles, identify Critical Quality Attributes (CQAs), and maintain critical control parameters. This role also involves documenting customer interactions in electronic systems, proposing new technical ideas, and contributing to cross-functional strategy execution. The position requires up to 30% travel within the North America region.
