Process Development Engineer I

Integer•Plymouth, MN

About The Position

The Process Development Engineer I performs general engineering work to develop processes and equipment for introducing new products into manufacturing sites, with the goal of achieving safe, high-quality, and cost-effective results. The role identifies or develops process and equipment technologies, characterizes and optimizes processes, and validates processes and manufacturing lines. As part of a broader new product introduction team, the engineer establishes efficient production line layouts or supports process improvements to existing plant operations, and may estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs. This is an entry-level engineering role. With direction and guidance from experienced engineers and managers, the engineer applies standard engineering methods and techniques to existing products and processes, participates in projects involving new product and process technologies, and investigates opportunities for improvement. The role also supports Integer’s Manufacturing Excellence and Market Focused Innovation strategies through continuous improvement, standardization, problem solving, quality practices, and collaboration across teams. The position requires adherence to Integer’s values and applicable safety, environmental, security, quality, FDA, company, and other regulatory requirements. The engineer is accountable for embedding quality in engineering work, contributing to corrective and preventive actions and quality objectives, and supporting environmental, health, and safety programs. Performance is assessed in part through safety, achievement of site quality KPIs, progress on defined project goals and milestones, and continuous-improvement suggestions and their implementation.
