About The Position

Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all. Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever. Our process engineering team plays a critical role in delivering high‑quality, reliable semiconductor technologies to market. We work hands‑on with advanced manufacturing, materials, and equipment, solving real problems that directly impact yield, cost, and product performance. If you enjoy turning complex process challenges into scalable solutions, you’ll feel right at home here! In this role, you’ll own and evolve CMP processes from early development through high‑volume manufacturing. You’ll collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to improve yield, reduce cost, and ensure robust, portable processes. Your work will directly influence product quality, reliability, and speed to market.

Requirements

  • M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field, or B.S. with 3+ years of semiconductor industry experience
  • Prior CMP experience in academia or industry
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage priorities effectively
  • Experience creating clear technical presentations and reports

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with dielectric and metal CMP process development and slurry‑pad interactions
  • Understanding of FEOL and BEOL CMP processes and CMP‑related electrical or probe failures
  • Hands‑on experience with CMP tools and endpoint systems
  • Experience supporting SPC, FDC, RMS, or APC systems
  • Familiarity with AI‑assisted tools for operational efficiency or coding (e.g., Claude, Tabnine)

Responsibilities

  • Develop, start up, optimize, and sustain CMP processes to improve yield, cost, productivity, and reliability
  • Identify and resolve assembly and manufacturing issues using failure analysis, FMEA, 8D, SPC, and FDC methodologies
  • Lead or contribute to continuous yield improvement, cost reduction, and risk management initiatives
  • Qualify and deploy new process baselines, tools, and materials for new product introduction and site‑to‑site portability
  • Evaluate and optimize processes, equipment, and materials, and manage supplier quality and performance

Benefits

  • Choice of medical, dental and vision plans
  • Benefit programs that help protect your income if you are unable to work due to illness or injury
  • Paid family leave
  • Robust paid time off program
  • Paid holidays
