The Process Design Engineer owns and supports process-engineering activities at the site. The role supports troubleshooting, improvement, growth, and process-safety projects; develops front-end loading (FEL) packages that define project scope; and coordinates with discipline leads and stakeholders. Typical FEL activities include equipment-adequacy checks, P&ID development, safety-valve contingency analysis and sizing, equipment specifications, hydraulic evaluations, alternative selection, vendor coordination, control-valve sizing, and PHA closeout. The role also participates in incident investigations, owns process-engineering actions, and helps translate investigation outcomes into facility-improvement projects.
