The Process Design Engineer owns and supports process-engineering activities at the site. The role supports troubleshooting, improvement, growth, and process-safety projects; develops front-end loading (FEL) packages that define project scope; and coordinates with discipline leads and stakeholders. Typical FEL activities include equipment-adequacy checks, P&ID development, safety-valve contingency analysis and sizing, equipment specifications, hydraulic evaluations, alternative selection, vendor coordination, control-valve sizing, and PHA closeout. The role also participates in incident investigations, owns process-engineering actions, and helps translate investigation outcomes into facility-improvement projects. Essential Functions Developing MOC packages Evaluate operating conditions and propose troubleshooting approaches. Evaluate processes and equipment for compliance with environmental and safety regulations. Lead small capital projects valued at less than $2 million, including plant layout, equipment purchasing, construction support, P&ID walkdowns, commissioning, and startup. Lead complete project-scope definition and obtain input from discipline leads and stakeholders.
