We are looking for someone who wants to learn and master the design of tooling used to create the shapes required in cold heading, while also taking an active role in improving factory processes and supporting day-to-day production needs. This person will work closely with production, quality, tooling, and suppliers to keep the factory running efficiently and competitively.

Requirements

  • Engineering background preferred.
  • Interest in or experience with cold heading, tooling design, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong willingness to learn the technical side of tooling design for forming parts in cold heading.
  • Hands-on mindset and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working closely with equipment, operators, workshop teams, and external suppliers.
  • Ability to combine technical analysis with practical execution on the shop floor.

Nice To Haves

  • Design tooling and define manufacturing processes for new parts, including heading and other related operations, with focus on stability, efficiency, and tooling cost reduction.
  • Review and improve tooling design for current parts together with production and workshop teams.
  • Support production in troubleshooting tooling and process issues, helping solve problems quickly and effectively when parts are not running as expected.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement, including: reducing setup times, improving machine performance, optimizing feeding systems, improving vibrating bowls and part flow, increasing overall production efficiency.
  • Evaluate part feasibility for new customer requests, including production difficulty, tooling implications, and most suitable manufacturing approach.
  • Work with suppliers to negotiate, source, and purchase tooling and technical items needed to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Coordinate with internal teams including Production, Quality, Sales, and Tooling to improve product manufacturability and production performance.
